Urban Decay are renowned for their eyeshadows and after buying (and loving) Book of Shadows I and Book of Shadows II, my mum got me this as a present. It includes 4 eyeshadows, a lipgloss and an eyeshadow brush in a zipped case which can easily fit into a handbag. The eyeshadows are all glittery, as is the lipgloss, so if you prefer eyeshadows that are more block colours or matte, you may not like these. The colours are great for blending into a darker colour and do look great when layered up, or if you want the effect to be less noticeable just a light sweep of your chosen colour looks great.
If anyone decides to buy this, or has it already, it looks great if you blend some of the purple-y colour AC/DC into the outer edge of your eyelid after putting on one of the lighter colours in the palette.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend this set as it includes some of Urban Decay's bestselling shades (midnight cowboy and ac/dc), the lipgloss is full-size and it looks great over a matte lipstick. What do you think of Urban Decay make-up? Love it or hate it?

Dress: New Look

Tights: New Look

Hello! I've been so busy the last few days revising for my Christmas exams at uni that I've barely had time to even think about posting any new posts. I managed to quickly take a picture of my outfit last night though- apologies for poor quality/shadows etc! Anyway, I saw this dress in New Look and instantly loved the bright colour and material, it is also extremely similar to a dress I tried on in Topshop a few weeks ago, with the only difference being the price. It's a shame that you can't properly see the tights in the photo but they're gold lurex and instantly make a simple outfit look much more exciting.
Apart from revising -snore-, I've not been upto much really apart from the obligatory weekly Nando's (ofcourse) and I had an appointment with a surgeon on Tuesday about braces and jaw surgery; I'm really torn over what to do though as I desperately want perfect teeth and a better jaw shape but was told that 1 in 5 people suffer from permanent numbness in the lip after the op. Not having sensation in your lips would be horrible, so I'll need to think it through a bit more, thankfully I have until the end of January to decide though. Shame I'm so indecisive...

My New Obsession

Usually, you'd find me curled up on the sofa watching 'Gossip Girl' and being in complete awe of Blair Waldorf's amazing outfits and Chuck; just Chuck being Chuck is brilliant enough *tv crush*. If not Gossip Girl, then I love 'Heroes' - I highly recommend watching it to anyone who hasn't already!
So, when my boyfriend mentioned how great a show 'The Walking Dead' is, I wasn't up for believing him. How could a show that involved zombies possibly compare to Gossip Girl?! He eventually persuaded me to watch it though and all I can honestly say is wow. I have never been so addicted to a series before - the cliffhangers are unbelievable and the storyline is not what you'd expect. You can buy series one from HMV for £15 (it's been reduced, yay!) and try not to watch the first six episodes in one day..or do..

Let me introduce myself

Hello everyone! Thought that since I've just started this blog and have posted a couple of things I should introduce myself and tell you a bit about myself.

My name is Lauren, I'm eighteen and currently studying Business and Accounting at Edinburgh University - it's going okay but for my outside course I only had a choice of two economics courses...Let's just say economics isn't my strong point!

Other than that I have a part-time job but spend more money than I probably should on clothes, make-up and ofcourse...Nando's! Yum. I have an amazing boyfriend who also shares the love for nando's so at least we can get chubby together.

Given the amount of clothes and make-up I buy, I decided that a blog would be a great place to post reviews on my favourite products and outfits. It's a bit bare at the moment but I'm slowly adding make-up reviews and have some outfit posts to upload so there will be more coming soon!

I should probably state at the beginning here, that I am not a Benefit fan so maybe I wasn't expecting much to start with- there's a couple of products that I actually like (Dallas bronzer/blusher to name my favourite!) but a lot of the others leave a lot to be desired. This product, in true Benefit fashion, concentrates on the packaging and branding over the actual product formulation and colour.

It's not all bad however, as the set contains a nice selection of colours, my favourite being 'Foxy Lady'. The glosses themselves are high shine, and some are loaded with shimmer, I felt that they were quite moisturising, as my lips didn't feel dry at all after. However, a definite disadvantage would be the short time that the lipgloss actually lasts for on your lips, within about an hour (if that) my lips were bare and gloss free. Considering that they retail at £19.50, I feel that my money would probably be better spent on a gloss that actually lasts and has better colour payoff. Given that there are six glosses in the set though, you can't complain about the price too much.

Okay, so maybe it maybe it adds upto pounds rather than pennies, but these are a few things that I really like just now, I might treat myself on Thursday to something seeing as it's payday and all. My favourite item has got to be the dress, the colour is so bold and bright and I also love skater style dresses seeing as I have quite wide hips - very flattering! It's been reduced from £50 to £30 so that's another excuse to get it...

I'm going away on Boxing day to Singapore for a few days and then spending New Year in Malaysia so I definitely need a new bikini. This one looks great because it's cheap and cheerful, I'll have to wait and see if I like it so much after I've tried it on though.

Any thoughts on the shoes? Can't help but feel like they're a bit of a rip off, I'm sure I saw an almost identical pair in New Look a few months ago..
